The german wirehaired pointer is a very versatile dog. The properly bred wirehair is a natural soft mouthed retriever of shot game. The retrieving of downed and crippled game is a must for my hunting needs. Whether I'm hunting in the uplands or the duckblind, I expect my dogs to retrieve all shot game, including fur. The german wirehaired pointer fits the bill for retrieving versatility. The german wirehaired pointer will retrieve everything from woodcock to canadian geese.
